Catmosphere presents

Greenomics

What is CATMOS?

CATMOS represents experience points in the Catmosphere. Team up, trade rare CATS for CATMOS, battle monsters (and other players) using your CATMOS and receive rare NFTs that will help you and your friends in battle!

What are Greenomics?

Greenomics are sustainable plans for the CATMOS project. Greenomics include everything from concerns around the choice of L1 Blockchain (based on power consumption) to the rules that govern how our newly minted coins will be put into circulation. All plans will be made with the end-goal of maintaining a sustainable community within the crypto ecosystem.

Which blockchain does this project use?

We use Chia Networks as our decentralized L1 Blockchain provider and specifically Chia’s Offer Files for our events. Chia’s Proof-of-Space-and-Time (PoST) blockchain is more efficient than all other Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchains. It requires only a tiny fraction of power compared to the competitors while still maintaining the most decentralized blockchain database available today.

Chia Offer Files are a revolutionary way to trade any coins on the Chia network in a peer-to-peer and trustless way. No centralized exchanges, no commission fees!

Who is behind CATMOS?

The Catmosphere was dreamed up by Josh Painter. He’s been coding for over 20 years and got into Chia soon after mainnet launch. He’s been farming ever since and was inspired by Chia Asset Tokens (CATs) and Chia Offer Files when the features were announced. What if you could actually do something with all those CATs? Maybe play games? Could Offer Files be used to run these games? Soon thereafter, on Jan 20th, 2022, he minted the CATMOS token on the Chia blockchain and registered catmos.io. You can usually find him on Twitter, but you can also reach him on DiscordLinkedIn or even ChiaForum.

What else can I do with CATMOS?

The Chia NFT Standard is expected to be finalized soon. Our first NFT will be a “Level 1” NFT that will be available for a certain amount of CATMOS, and then a “Level 2” NFT, and so on. This is similar to “leveling up” in a game. We also plan on releasing other special CATMOS NFTs that will unlock certain bonuses and power-ups. All of these CATMOS NFTs will be useful in all CATMOS events. Our platform will even allow some NFTs from other projects to be used in CATMOS events!

How will you eat?

Soon we will start an ongoing event that will accept XCH in trade for CATMOS. The exchange rate might vary but will be matched as closely as possible to the current market trade values.

This ongoing event will also have a published budget like all other events and it may be necessary to stop or pause it so that the budget is not exceeded.

How many CATMOS were minted?

Exactly One Billion (1,000,000,000) CATMOS coins were originally minted using the ChivesCoin.net utilities. These coins were then immediately transferred from the Chives minting wallet to a secure warm wallet. Of these, 999,000,000 were then transferred to a cold wallet for safe keeping, leaving 1,000,000 CATMOS in the warm wallet for events. will be matched as closely as possible to the current market trade values.

This ongoing event will also have a published budget like all other events and it may be necessary to stop or pause it so that the budget is not exceeded.

How many CATMOS are in circulation?

A little under 200,000 CATMOS coins are currently in circulation. See Event Budgets and Results below for more details.

How will CATMOS enter and exit circulation?

Newly minted CATMOS can only be earned via Offer Files and Trade Events on catmos.io. CATMOS will never be air-dropped. All upcoming Trade Events will have a pre-published budget of CATMOS.

The budgeted amount for CATMOS events will not exceed 10,000,000 in any 12-month period. This allows for at least 100 years’ worth of budget.

Some events will require CATMOS to play, effectively “buying back” CATMOS coins that were in circulation.

Other events will encourage locking up CATMOS for long periods of time, similar to staking. Participants will receive more CATMOS than they locked up after the specified period.
